December 2017 – Going up high with Universal Transport

It is not new that the wind turbines are no longer exclusively in the northern regions of Germany. However, the plant manufacturers for the development of wind mills need to find new ways for locations with comparatively less wind to reach as many full load of wind per hours.

One possibility is the establishment of ever higher wind mills.Universal Transport was from October to November responsible for the transportation of the components for the highest wind turbines in the world. At an unbelievable hub height of 178 meters, it is also possible for Baden-Württemberg Gaildorf, to blow enough wind to the three each 67.5 meters long rotor blades to move constantly.

The Paderborn heavy goods specialist transported for a total of four systems the rotor blades, the gondolas and the hubs. Even for one experienced wind power logisticians like Universal Transport was the way from Brake, Salzbergen and Spelle a task with those kinds of magnitude components.
